Contreras 2003 Doble Tapa

Specifications: Cedar top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, 650 mm scale length.
Comments: This guitar embodies the sultry Madrid sound that was made famous by the best guitars from the Ramirez and Contreras workshops. The basses are dark and powerful, the trebles lush and expressive. This guitar was personally selected from Contreras by the flamenco great Serranito. The Brazilian rosewood is top quality, the detail in the purfling and rosette is just lovely.

Comments: This is a lovely Ramirez 1a in very good condition for its age. The sound is full and loud with ringing trebles and focused basses.

Comments: This is a Ramirez 1a has a lovely sound that is more organic than many newer Ramirez guitar. The bass and treble balance is perfect, the playability is excellent for this era Ramirez.

Comments: Joshia is the daughter of Canadian luthier Sergei de Jonge and has gained an impressive reputation of her own.
The sound of this instrument is sophisticated and complex. The workmanship is outstanding.

Sergei de Jonge 1996

CANADA.
Specifications: Spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, 650 mm scale length, French polish.
Comments: This is a marvelous instrument from the highly respected Canadian luthier Sergei de Jonge. The figured spruce top is of the highest quality as is the workmanship throughout. The guitar is very responsive with firm basses and bell-like trebles that provide an articulate yet singing voice. Sergei's new guitars are selling for $8,000 and up making this guitar a great value.

Comments: This is a lovely guitar from the highly respected English luthier Simon Ambridge. The guitar's design is influenced by Torres, Santos Hernandez and Hauser. The sound is clear, balanced and refined. A wonderful guitar for a player or collector.

Comments: Richard Howell is one of the top builders in Australia, known throughout the world for his lovely Fleta-style guitars.

M. Tezanos Perez 1998

SPAIN.
Specifications: Spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, 650 mm scale length, French polish top, Fustero tuners.
Comments: Mariano Tezanos and Gregorio Perez were veteran luthiers of Jose Ramirez III and IV until they split off to open their own shop in the 1990s. The Maestro model is one of their top concert instruments featuring fine European spruce, outstanding Brazilian rosewood and wonderful inlay work. The sound is bold and powerful.

Bellido Flamenco Negra 1994

SPAIN.
Specifications: Spruce top, Coral wood back and sides, 650 mm scale length.
Comments: Manuel Bellido is recognized world-wide as one of the elder statesmen of the "Granada school" of guitar building. He is most famous for his flamenco guitars and his instruments are played by some of the top flamenco players in the world including Tomatito and Vincente Amigo. This guitar with the beautiful coral wood back and sides is truly unique. It is a wonderfully versitile guitar with a powerful sound and a tone that is both focused and lyrical. The action is very low making this guitar fast, easy to play and just a lot of fun. A great guitar for a classical, flamenco, fingerstyle jazz player or discerning collector.

LoPrinzi M-1000

U.S.A.
Specifications: Cedar top, Indian rosewood back and sides, Ebony fingerboard, 650 mm scale length.
Comments: This guitar from American luthier Augustino LoPrinzi is built in the style of Humphrey's "Millennium" model guitars. The elevated fingerboard/sloped top provide greater access to the upper frets as well as changing the angle of the top relative to the strings to increase soundboard dynamics. This guitar has a few minor finish blemishes but is in otherwise great condition.

Hill Signature

Specifications: Double top spruce, Indian rosewood back and sides, 650 mm scale length.
Comments: This guitar features a "double top" design as used by Dammann, Wagner, and other popular modern builders. The top is constructed with spruce on the outside, nomex in the middle and cedar on the inside. The result is an incredibly powerful, rich sound that has a very broad dynamic range. This guitar also features an elevated fingerboard for easier access ot the upper frets, and sound ports to increase the overall volume.

Manuel Velazquez 1968

U.S.A.
Specifications: Spruce top, Pau Ferro back and sides, 650 mm scale length.
Comments: Manuel Velazquez has rightfully earned the reputation as one of this countries mosty highly regarded builders. His instruments are Hauser influenced, but are regarded by many as being superior even to Hauser in balance and focus. This instrument has lots of playing wear and some repaired cracks but remains one of our favorite guitars in the store. The sound is smooth, open, loud and full of character.

SPAIN
Specifications: Solid German spruce top, Solid Brazilian rosewood back and sides, 650 mm scale length.
Comments: This very slightly used Alhambra Luthier was built by Spanish luthiers Javier Mengual and Jose Margarit for Alhambra.
The sound is amazingly powerful with booming basses and piano-like trebles. An outstanding value for a great concert instrument

Dominelli Panormo Replica 2007

CANADA.
Specifications: Solid spruce top, Solid Indian rosewood back and sides, 635 mm scale length.
Comments: This guitar by Canadian luthier Marcus Dominelli is based on a 1847 Louis Panormo now owned by Pepe Romero.
The sound is amazingly loud for a small bodied instrument. Sor and Giuliani are a breeze with the 635 mm scale.

Hill Panormo Replica 2005

Specifications: Solid spruce top, Solid Indian rosewood back and sides, 630 mm scale length.
Comments: This is American luthier Kenny Hill's version of a 1830 Panormo. The workmanship and detail are outstanding.
The sound is lively and colorful. This guitar is definitely fun to play!
