Contreras 2003 Doble Tapa

SPAIN
Specifications: Cedar top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, 650 mm scale length.
Comments: This guitar embodies the sultry Madrid sound that was made famous by the best guitars from the Ramirez and Contreras workshops. The basses are dark and powerful, the trebles lush and expressive. This guitar was personally selected from Contreras by the flamenco great Serranito. The Brazilian rosewood is top quality, the detail in the purfling and rosette is just lovely.

Comments: This is a loud and lively guitar from American luthier Dake Traphagen. The combination of cedar top and Brazilian rosewood back and sides give this guitar a penetrating sound with lots of color and character. Traphagen especially likes Brazilian rosewood for his guitars feeling that it gives his instruments a richer color palette adding more warmth and complexity to the sound. Traphagen's new guitars with Brazilian rosewood sell for over $6000 and his Anniversary Models are priced between $10,000 and $25,000.

Bellido Flamenco Negra 1994

SPAIN.
Specifications: Spruce top, Coral wood back and sides, 650 mm scale length.
Comments: Manuel Bellido is recognized world-wide as one of the elder statesmen of the "Granada school" of guitar building. He is most famous for his flamenco guitars and his instruments are played by some of the top flamenco players in the world including Tomatito and Vincente Amigo. This guitar with the beautiful coral wood back and sides is truly unique. It is a wonderfully versitile guitar with a powerful sound and a tone that is both focused and lyrical. The action is very low making this guitar fast, easy to play and just a lot of fun. A great guitar for a classical, flamenco, fingerstyle jazz player or discerning collector.

LoPrinzi M-1000

U.S.A.
Specifications: Cedar top, Indian rosewood back and sides, Ebony fingerboard, 650 mm scale length.
Comments: This guitar from American luthier Augustino LoPrinzi is built in the style of Humphrey's "Millennium" model guitars. The elevated fingerboard/sloped top provide greater access to the upper frets as well as changing the angle of the top relative to the strings to increase soundboard dynamics. The top is constructed with spruce on the outside, nomex in the middle and cedar on the inside. The result is an incredibly powerful, rich sound that has a very broad dynamic range.
